The short version: Ekiro does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Everything stays on your devices. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.
Ekiro is an interval run/walk timer for iPhone and Apple Watch. To do its job it works with the following data — all of it locally, on your devices only:
Ekiro uses Apple HealthKit to read your heart rate during workouts and to save completed workouts to Apple Health. Health data:
You control HealthKit permissions in the Health app and can revoke them at any time.
Workouts you build on iPhone are sent to your paired Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity — a direct connection between your own devices. Nothing passes through our servers, because we don't have any.
During a workout on iPhone, Ekiro keeps a location session active — iOS requires this so the lock-screen widget (Live Activity) can update while the app is in the background. Coordinates are not stored, not shown to anyone, and never leave your device. The session ends with the workout. You can decline location access — everything keeps working except the lock-screen widget updates.
If the app ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated first, and the effective date above will change.
