Terms of Use

1. What this document is about

These terms describe the basis on which you use the Ekiro app for iPhone and Apple Watch and the ekiro.run website. By installing the app and continuing to use it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.

2. Health and risks

Ekiro is a training app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose anything, does not measure anything with medical accuracy, does not give medical advice, and does not replace advice from a doctor or a coach.

Running and any physical exercise carry health risks, including, among others, injuries and cardiovascular complications. By starting to train, you confirm that you have no medical contraindications, that you have assessed your condition, and that you accept these risks. If you have any illnesses or health conditions, have not exercised in a long time, or are unsure — talk to your doctor first.

You set the heart-rate limits in Ekiro yourself. The app does not calculate “safe zones” and does not check whether the values you choose are appropriate for your health. Heart-rate readings come from the Apple Watch sensor and may be inaccurate; do not rely on them when making decisions about your health. Stop the workout and seek help if you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, or any other worrying symptoms.

Ekiro Coach suggestions about increasing your workload are based solely on your own ratings and general principles of interval running. Every suggestion can be declined; the decision about your workload is always yours.

3. Purchases

Some features are unlocked by a one-time purchase of the Core (permanently) or by the Ekiro Coach subscription (while it is active). All payments are processed by Apple under the App Store rules; subscription cancellations and refunds are handled there as well. The one-time purchase does not expire and does not renew; the subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple settings. After you cancel the subscription, your workout builds, history, and reports stay with you.

4. Your data

Workouts, reports, heart-rate data, and settings are stored on your devices and in your iCloud. Ekiro has no servers of its own; we do not collect or sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for harm to health, injuries, or other losses related to the use of the app, to decisions made based on its data, or to the inaccuracy of sensor readings. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law, or excludes liability in cases where such exclusion is not permitted.

6. Miscellaneous

We may update the app and these terms; the current version is always on this page, with the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after changes means you agree to them. Questions — support@ekiro.run.
